Why Buy or Lease 2020 Honda CR-V in Quad Cities IA
At about the midpoint of the fifth CR-V generation, Honda has opted to make some big improvements to one of its best-selling nameplates. The exterior refresh includes an upgraded front and rear fascia, a redesign of the headlamps and taillamps and some new colors as well. Gone is the 2.4-liter base engine as every CR-V now comes with the turbocharged power plant. Perhaps the most important change is that Honda Sensing is now standard equipment, which means that even if you opt for the base LX, you get almost all of the active safety features, passive safety features and driver-assistive technologies available at no added cost. Better yet, you can test-drive the CR-V today at our location serving West Burlington Quad Cities Iowa, and we have some fantastic Brad Deery Honda specials available too!
Exterior - 2020 Honda CR-V
The 2020 Honda CR-V is available in eight distinct colors, including exciting options like Radiant Red and Aegean Blue. The base wheels are 17-inch alloy, but 18-inch and 19-inch wheels are an option as are various designs and finishes. A manual tailgate is standard. A power tailgate is exclusive to the EX-L, and a hands-free power tailgate is exclusive to the Touring. The Touring also gets LED headlamps with auto on/off. All models feature an active shutter grille. LED fog lamps are standard on the EX and up as are side mirrors that are body-colored, powered and heated and feature integrated turn signals.
Interior - Honda CR-V
The 2020 Honda CR-V near Quad Cities can seat up to five. The total passenger volume for the LX is 105.9 cubic feet, but it is reduced to 102.9 with the upper trims due to the additional features. In either case, passengers in the rear enjoy 39.2 inches of headroom, 40.4 inches of legroom, 55.6 inches of shoulder room and 49.5 inches of hip room. The cargo volume is the same across the board. You get a core cargo compartment that measures 39.2 cubic feet, and you can fold the rear seat down to gain access to 75.8 cubic feet of cargo volume. Automatic climate control is standard, but stepping up to the EX or above upgrades the system to dual zones.
Mechanical - 2020 Honda CR-V
The 2020 Honda CR-V is front-wheel drive standard but is available with all-wheel drive at all trim levels. The wheelbase is slightly longer with front-wheel drive CR-V models: 104.8 versus 104.7 inches. The all-wheel-drive models have an 8.2-inch ground clearance whereas the front-wheel drive models have 7.8 inches. As mentioned in the opener, there are no longer two powertrains available. The less powerful engine is gone, and every CR-V gets the turbocharged 1.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine mated to a continuously variable transmission. Regardless of drive configuration, the engine makes 190 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 179 pound-feet of torque at 2,000-5,000 rpm. There is a Honda CR-V towing package available, and with proper equipment, your CR-V can tow as much as 1,500 pounds.
Technology and Safety Features
Honda Sensing is now standard equipment, which means that it is included with the base trim. Passive safety features include advanced front airbags and SmartVent front side airbags. Active safety features include a multi-angle rearview camera, forward collision warning, a collision mitigation braking system, lane departure warning and road departure mitigation. The driver assistance technologies include adaptive cruise control with low speed follow, a lane keeping assist system and automatic high beams.
There are some benefits to moving up to the EX and above. The EX gets a blind-spot monitoring system with a cross-traffic monitor, and the camera display features dynamic guidelines rather than basic guidelines. In addition, whereas the base model has a 5-inch color LCD screen, the EX and up get a 7-inch touchscreen, HondaLink, Android and Apple support, an additional USB port up front and a USB charging point for the rear seat, an upgraded radio system, HD Radio and more.
Trim Levels - 2020 Honda CR-V
The trim lineup for the CR-V is streamlined and has remained the same throughout the generation: LX, EX, EX-L and Touring. The LX is a well-equipped base model that is configured to make the CR-V as affordable as possible without sacrificing what has made the CR-V so popular. You get Honda’s infotainment system, a 5-inch central touchscreen, active noise cancelling, an automatic climate control system, a four-speaker audio system, remote entry and the Honda Sensing suite.
The EX is the up-level trim available at your local Honda dealer serving West Burlington Quad Cities Iowa, and it adds a slate of extras: a 7-inch touchscreen, Android and Apple smartphone integration, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats and the blind-spot monitoring system. The EX-L is essentially the EX but with luxury features added, including leather seating. The Touring is the loaded trim and adds built-in navigation, a premium audio setup and a hands-free liftgate.
